Cayman’s men’s team managed their highest ever finish in the Caribbean Area Squash Association Championships in Guyana. The team; Mark Chaloner, Cameron Stafford, Gabe Rabess, Julian Jervis and Daniel Murphy managed to win 4 out of 6 ties. With the best performances coming towards the end of the competition gaining what proved to be very important extra games against great rivals Jamaica and Barbados. Guyana were the overall champions who didn’t lose a match, but we stayed ahead of Jamaica by 1 games on count back. 54 games to 53. This result has effectively qualified Cayman’s entry into the Commonwealth Games and the CAC(Central American & Caribbean) Games next year. The Cayman team manager and over 40’s representative Janet Sairsingh pulled off a 3rd place finish in the ladies over 40 category. We’d like to thank the CIOC, Cayman Islands Olympic Committee for helping to fund this event for the Cayman Team.
